About The School

Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi is a premier national accelerator laboratory established by U.G.C, MoE, Govt. of India. IUAC is holding a 4-day school on Scientific Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to motivate B.Tech (Final Year)/M.Tech/M.Sc/Ph.D students and young faculty members/research associates of various research labs to delve into the applications of these emerging fields. In the past few years, ML and AI have been applied to many areas of science and engineering. With the advent of new computing technologies like GPUs and TPUs, problems which seemed almost impossible to solve few years ago are now becoming tractable. This school will provide exposure to machine learning applications in physics by combining Scientific Computing and AI to computationally solve complex science and engineering problems. Due to the large use of sensors and actuators in various research fields, upcoming technologies like embedded machine learning will also be discussed.
Over the course of four days, renowned experts and practitioners in the field of Scientific Computing, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning will deliver engaging lectures, conduct interactive sessions, and guide participants through practical hands-on exercises. The audience is presumed to have beginner's level knowledge of these fields.
Participants (other than from the accelerator labs) will be shortlisted based on the short write-up submitted by them at the time of registration and only after getting a recommendation letter from the faculty of their Institute/University. The accelerator labs may recommend their staff members working in these areas. The shortlisting will be done based on the registration details with the final decision resting with the organizing committee.
